The corn contest was over yesterday so now, as I promised, I will put out my best guess which is July 9. While it looks like Judy Clarke is the winner of our contest since she guessed July 9 this is really premature since it ain’t picked until it’s picked! Of course, what we are really talking about is the day we start selling corn. To be honest, some in our family thinks it will be Saturday July 7 when we will pick about 6 bushels. So, there is a good chance that on July 7 we will go into our first corn patch and figure out if we can pick at least 6 bushels of ripe corn. If we think we can only pick a couple of bushels, we just won’t start picking and we’ll wait to Monday. BTW coons are already making a meal of our corn which means it won’t be long before we will also be enjoying it.
