We Started Picking Our Watermelons Today!

It looks like another bumper crop of watermelons again this year!  We have planted Crimson Sweet, Lantha, Charleston Grey and two types of seedless melons.  Crimson Sweet and Charleston Grey range in size from about 15 to 35+ pounds and the Lantha from 7 to 15 pounds.  Our seedless, which will be ready in a few days will likely be in the 7 to 20 pound range.  We also are continuing to pick the first patch of our deliciously sweet muskmelon. It looks like we will be through with this patch late next week.  Our second patch should start right before Labor Day.   One thing to keep in mind is our sweet corn.  Since we have such a good supply right now, we have a limited time quantity special of 3 dozen for $10.  Since the ears are big, only about 3 dozen will fir in the bushel.  If you are freezing or canning the cut off corn, the large size will make the job easier.  It also is very sweet corn, with our Mirai type being the sweetest corn we grow.  Also, we now have Sugar Pearly for those white corn lovers!

    Thank you

      Hi Sandra,

We are now picking canning tomatoes and their price is $8 a half bushel. We also have Romas (aka Italian, plum, paste) tomatoes for $12 a half bushel.
